What to do with Sticks

It seems lots of people are trimming trees around me.  I keep seeing branches piled on sidewalks and by peoples houses.  So I decided it would be lots of fun to use them in my Halloween decor!
I started by spray painting them black.  I didn't care if it was perfect.  I like the look of some parts not getting painted at all.  It added in a little more dimension!
Some even had left over leaves on them, they were my favorite.
I say were because after I got them all situated in an empty pot full of dirt,

added a cute sign by them, my cute 2 year old pulled off all the leaves.

There's one fun idea to use those sticks up.  I think I am going to put some spider webs up in them.  Sounds fun and spooky to me!

Back

Wow, where have I been?

I finished painting that side table!  Pictures coming soon.  Need to put something fun on top of it!

We have been doing preschool.  We learned about clouds and rain and made our very own cloud pictures after reading the story, It Looks Like Spilt Milk.  The story went great with the project!  It was quick and very easy and they both loved it!
All you have to do is fold your paper in half, open it up, drop white paint on paper wherever you want, fold paper and smoosh.  Open and see what designs you have made.  Viola!

Display proudly!
We are gearing up to get out the Halloween Decorations.   Have some fun ideas on the way!

Redo=Renew!

I have a wild hair to repaint some furniture that has been gifted to us.  It is a little old, seems dated.  So why not?  My first piece is an end table that will go in my living room.  I have been debating between going black and an off white.  I finally decided on black, I think it will match the room and furniture really well.
Here is the before
I first did a lot of reading and to decided the best way to go about this.  The consensis is to do a spray primer first using Kilz paint.
CHECK
It was a little different.  I don't know if this is how the paint is or just me getting a lucky can.  But everytime I sprayed it a little puddle of paint formed at the top.  Then it would spill off.  Can you see the splatters on the bottom?
I'm still thinking it will be okay.  The other problem though, the primer feels really sand papery.  From my reading this happens occasionally.  Some said you need to shake it longer.  Man, I felt like I was shaking it forever!  But, it's still sand papery.  The rememdy is to take a very fine sand paper over real quickly.
This is as far as I am.  I'm going out today to try some more.  Just thought I would show you what I am working on right now!

Chore Cards

I am always lookng for new ways to encourage Miss C to do chores or help around the house. We have been using the Land of Obey Chart she got from preschool. It's worked great until just recently when she told me it didn't matter if she got moved backwards. She would just move forward tomorrow. I wanted to scream. In all reality; she is right, but that's not how it is suppose to work! So when I found these cute
chore cards I was very excited!

They are from a great blog called, Prepared NOT Scared. Here is the link to the toddler chore charts.  She has made a bunch of them for girls or boys. You just need to print them off. I thought they were so great I would share them with you. Just in case you needed something too!  It is most definately on my to do list.
